Dryvit-Systems-NUDURA-ICF-Merger

Expect to see more sites like this across Alberta (and Canada)

An exciting announcement came down the pipe last week as RPM International’s Dryvit Systems expanded its portfolio of highly energy efficient building solutions for residential (and commercial) applications by acquiring NUDURA Corporation, the top manufacturer and distributor of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) in North America. As you know, Total ICF is a leading supplier of NUDURA products in Central Alberta, and we can safely say that this acquisition is a tremendous sign of things to come.

For the uninitiated, Dryvit itself has long been dedicated to helping builders adhere to the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB) and the regulations set forth by the NECB as they have been adopted by jurisdictions in Canada, Alberta included. In an effort to abide by the law of increasing minimum effective thermal resistance of building envelopes, Dryvit’s own initiatives in continuous insulation and their manufacturing of Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) have served as a solution to meeting this R-value requirement. You can see why the marriage between the two companies makes great sense. The energy efficiency benefits of NUDURA insulted concrete forms (tested R-vlaue of 23.89) align with the acquiring brand’s own systems.

So what does this all mean for residential builders in Alberta?

For one, it will be business as usual. Total ICF remains to serve as your provider of insulated concrete forms, accessories and related products so that you can continue (or begin) to deliver the most energy efficient detached homes and multi-residential developments on the market.

In fact, you can expect new and improved insulating concrete forms and an even wider range of complementary building envelope products to come as the future unfolds:

“For NUDURA to capitalize on this new market awareness and potential paradigm shift to ICF, it was evident that NUDURA and Polyform must get ready to meet a greater demand for our products and find ways to strengthen our respective programs. Such growth strategies would have to include extensive investments into, though not limited to, manufacturing & automation, systems, human resources and possible new plant facilities.” (Murray Snider, President, NUDURA)

If there was ever any question about which ICF products you can trust the most for your residential (and commercial) builds, you must admit that this recent move by Dryvit closes the book on the conversation. Their confidence in NUDURU to help them usher in a new era of energy efficient building solutions provides you with complete peace of mind. Simply put, your projects are in good hands when constructed by NUDURA ICF systems.

Stay tuned as Total ICF provides updates on innovative new developments from the world’s top ICF manufacturer. And as always, our team will keep on delivering meaningful training sessions for Central Alberta area contractors and subcontractors in need of ground-up learning and refresher courses alike.
