An ICF consists of two panels of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation. Both panels of EPS insulation are held together with engineered cross ties or “webs” that are molded into the foam to create a block. This block is called a “form unit”.

Reinforcement bars are placed horizontally and vertically in the ICF. Concrete is then poured into the ICF and the final product is an insulated, reinforced concrete wall.

By keeping air and moisture out, ICFs lower the potential for allergens and mold meaning that buildings are safer and healthier to live, work and play in. Standing up to Alberta winds of up 250 +MPH/hr, and fire for up to four hours, a building with an ICF structure, will provide peace of mind for those inside.
